Battery Park City Day Nursery is a private non-sectarian preschool, licensed by the New York City Department of Health. Children are admitted without regard to race, color, religious creed, handicap, ancestry, national origin or sex.

Scheduling a school tour is the first step in the application process. Private tours are given throughout the year. We do not interview or pre-test applicants. Instead, we explain our policies and philosophies carefully and allow parents to decide whether the Nursery is a good match for their family. This allows for a diverse mix of children in the classroom. You may visit alone or with your child as many times as necessary to help you feel comfortable with our program.

Parents interested in a July or September start date may apply as early as March 1st. Preference is given to families currently enrolled or on our current year Wait List. New children are admitted on a first applied basis. Although most children start in September, we do enroll throughout the academic year as long as space is available.

A complete application includes a contract, an application form, a $35.00 application fee and one month's prepaid tuition. Space cannot be guaranteed without a complete application.
